How to spend your holidays

Published 21 Dec 2016 at 10:40 by Daphne Prochowski

What are your plans for the holidays? Turkey dinner and Dutch delicacy oliebollen? Or cultural fireworks with We Are Public? Here’s a few pointers on how to spend your holidays.

Marvellous movie theatres
Embrace the dark days. Dive into the cosy darkness of the cinema! Catch these feel good/bad movies with your membership: Juste la fin du monde by whizzkid Xavier Dolan (in French, Dutch subtitles) (22 to 28 December in the FilmHallen), popcorn classic Who Framed Roger Rabbit (23 December in De Uitkijk) and the wintery musical mystery 8 femmes  (in French, Dutch subtitles) (27 December in Het Ketelhuis).

Alternative Christmas
Treat yourself to a performance by classical musicians Camerata RCO on Christmas Eve. As part of the series Klassiek in de Loods by 24Classics, this edition will take place in the Zuiveringshal at Westergasfabriek. And marvel in Parsifal  by the Dutch National Opera on Christmas Day.

Photography for your days off
Between Boxing Day and 8 January, We Are Public members can visit exhibitions in Foam and Huis Marseille, respectively by Harley Weir and Chrystel Lebas and Theo Baart & Cary Markerink. Both spaces are located on the Keizersgracht, so take the time and make a day of it! Please note: Foam is also open on new year’s day. What better way to spend this lazy day?
