The amount of exceptionally good artists participating in this exhibition is incredible. Among them is the duo Sander Breure and Witte van Hulzen, whose work was, in my eyes, the highlight of the most recent RIjksakademieOPEN.
The exhibition Who Are We Again?, curated by Imke Ruigrok, shows our contemporary notion of identity has become extremely fluid. In this day and age, the human image and perceptions of identity are more layered, nuanced, and vulnerable than they ever were before. More than ten leading artists show their work reflecting on the shifting notion of identity, including Charl Landvreugd, Femmy Otten, Marlene Dumas, Amie Dicke and Berend Strik.
Kickan Schipper is the chief curator of We Are Public in Amsterdam. With 10 years of experience in the cultural industries, Kickan is always looking for ways to connect audiences to art, culture and creativity.
