In this media art exhibition with a political statement displays work with fascinating and humorous interventions. Each work holds up a mirror to show you a vicious reflection. Curators David Garcia and Annet Dekker on the artist as a cheater, a liar or deceiver; the artist who tricks the world. It’s an effective way to give sharp commentary on sensitive subjects – very relevant in today’s world. Featuring work by Paolo Cirio, The Yes Men and Arabian Street Artists, and a brand new installation of the Iranian-American activist Morehshin Allahyari.
Jasmin (1988) has degrees in Media & Culture and Art History, and is currently enrolled in the master's degree Museum Studies. She is the Coordinator of Publicity & Sales for Veem House for Performance and has a background working for the Van Gogh Museum. Besides her study and job, Jasmin likes to apply herself to cultural initiatives targeting young audiences – that's how she's been a circle member of HF Young (of Holland Festival) for the past two years. Innovative arts is what excites her. Art should evoke something within, according to Jasmin.
