Documentary about dreams in a refugee camp
Zaatari is a refugee camp in the Jordanian desert that’s comprised primarily of children. Zaatari Djinn takes us through this improvised city and follows the lives of four of its inhabitants: the hardworking Ferras, the assertive Fatma, the Myriam and rich kid Hammoudi. Each of them dreams of their future whilst anchored in a place that almost certainly makes any future impossible. With Zaatari Djinn, Catherine van Kampen has crafted a touching documentary that sheds new light on a situation we think we know.
Prior to the film, Suzanne Laszlo (Director Unicef) presents a personal column.
