Artist Shirin Neshat based her feminist debut film 'Women Without Men' on Iranian writer Shahrnush Parsipur's book of the same name. This moving film, which is banned in Iran, follows four women in Tehran during the 1953 coup. Iranian politics, poetry and female sexuality are featured in the film.
