The Amsterdam-based label FIBER has collaborated with The Rest Is Noise to put together a night filled with experimental music and audio visual explorations to kick start the new year. This edition of the recurring Muziekgebouw will feature the much-raved about album Continuum by ambient producer Paul Jebanasam together with audio visuals by artist Tarik Barri, made using self-developed software. Scott Monteith (aka Deadbeat) will be performing his new record Qawwali Quatsch with visuals by artist Rainer Kohlberger. The album was inspired by Qawwali, the traditional Sufi music from Pakistan, India and Bangladesh that is characterised by the use of tabla or the dholak as percussion and accompanied by hand clapping. The evening will be introduced by all the makers and Kristina Andersen, researcher at STEIM (Studio for Electronic-Instrumental Music in Amsterdam).
