The music played by this autodidactic pianist will first sound like improvised melancholic haggling, but I can ensure you that right after the first few minutes you will get completely carried away in his complex and intriguing compositions.
Have you not heard of Belgian-Italian composer and keyboardist Giovanni Di Domenico yet? Then this will be your chance to meet him. He is really a musician’s musician: known to other musicians as a talented and innovative artist. A man who aims to push music to great new heights with his inspiring improvisations and collaborations. Get acquainted and let yourself be surprised.
Ben Terwel (1989) is the programme coordinator of We Are Public for Delft, Leiden and The Hague. Next to that, he also curates the crossover and experimental music selection. He graduated from the interdisciplinary Interfaculty of ArtScience at the Royal Conservatoire and Royal Academy of Art in The Hague in 2012. There he educated himself as a sound artist and performer, with an emphasis on electro-mechanical sound installations and self-made musical instruments. Over the course of time, he developed a broad and playful interest for the role of art in the twenty-first century, especially when it comes to technology, ecology, food, physicality and democracy.
