The young British photographer Harley Weir makes images that comfort initially: aesthetically pleasing, a hint of fashion, nice colours, attractive people. But there's a definite friction in the universe Weir evokes. Something wry and slightly disturbing lingers in her photographs, and it appeals to me enormously.
Selected by: Basje Boer, Film ambassador

After graduating from the art academy, the young British photographer Harley Weir started contributing to magazines such as AnOther Magazine, i-D and Dazed & Confused. Foam presents her first solo exhibition: Boundaries, in which Meir investigates the beauty found in the every day using perplexing and intimate photographs.

Photo exhibitions during the darker days
In the period around Christmas and New Year’s Eve (between 26 December and 8 January), we have three photo exhibitions on offer for members. Regarding Nature by Chrystal Lebas, After Baldus: Travels in a Wounded Landscape by Theo Baart & Cary Markerink in Huis Marseille and Boundaries by Harley Weir in Foam. As both exhibition spaces are located on the Keizersgracht, we encourage everyone to visit both locations.

Please note: Foam will be open on New Year’s Day from 12:00 onwards.
