Theatre concert about a diva without all the glitter and glamour
A diva: we often link the term to ego, glitter, glamour and maybe even a spoiled whiner. But can it also be something else? ‘Yes it can’ is what directors Faustin Linyekula and the South African singer and actress Hlengiwe Lushaba must have thought. There are certain diva’s that are still able to stay away from such persistent stereotypes. Congolese percussionist Huguette Tolinga and dancer Johanna Tshabalala will also attend the performance, which can be best described as an homage to the power of women, in the guise of a compelling theatre concert.
