During the Leiden Asia Week the Kijkhuis will screen three Asian documentaries. All won awards for their activistic approach. Công Binh – The Lost Fighters Of Vietnam, reveals the cruel fate of Vietnamese children during World War II, which were brought over to Indochina, where they were put to work as slaves. The documentary portrays the story in a Vietnamese puppet show.
Inez de Coo (1982) lives and breathes cinema. She studied at art academies in The Hague and London after which she began working as a professional contemporary video artist. During her Film and Photographic Studies she started researching the architecture of cinema. When she’s not working she’s discussing politics or trying to solve world problems. This hobby also reflects in her programming, resulting in a pick of exciting cinema and visual arts.
