For An Ayler Xmas vol.2, saxophonist Mars Williams plays well-known Christmas songs in spirit of Albert Ayler, the man who unleashed the free jazz movement in the 60s. Williams’ concert at Bimhuis last year was simply mind blowing. He is known for his unparalleled ability to alternate between music styles, and his lively, open-minded performance approach perfectly suits the gospel-like Christmas tunes and Albert Ayler’s style.
