The stories of Solange or Virginia Woolf translated to dance
In collaboration with thirteen adolescents, choreographer Jan Martens sets out to create a manifesto for the future. Together they draw up an outline of the current situation, which includes gender diversity and gender equality, exploring the points of view of female authors, and great personalities of the past and present day. This confronting piece relies on text fragments from lyrics, TED talks, diaries, essays and letters, and the biography of various actors.
Jonne ter Braak has been dancing since she was a toddler. She was enrolled in a dance programme for two years, until she discovered that she wanted to broaden her knowledge, rather than specify it. She worked for Holland Festival for three years, and as of 1 April 2016 she carries the proud title of programmer at Felix Meritis and De Nieuwe Liefde.
