Stirring drama about a love that conquers all

Barry Jenkins won the Oscar for Best Film with his incredible Moonlight last year, and now returns with his highly-anticipated, new film If Beale Street Could Talk. Based on the eponymous book by author and activist James Baldwin, If Beale Street Could Talk promises to be just as romantic, moving and engaging as Moonlight. The film is set in Haarlem, New York in the early seventies. Tish is in love with Fonny. All is happy and merry until Fonny is falsely accused of a crime, arrested and put behind bars.

Before the screening, film journalist Hedwig van Driel will give a brief introduction.
