Last Fringe Festival a whole new world opened up for me with the energetic performance YONIVERSE; a musical invitation to the world of Black queer women and more specifically the ballroom culture. I am therefore very much looking forward to our collaboration with Radio Melkweg, in which we will not only present Cherella Gessel, but OTION as well. Both are makers who tell their important stories in theatre play, song, word, music and dance. To top it off, the night will finish with a ballroom party with two local vogueing dancers and Matiouz, 'commentator' from the Parisian scene!
Selected by: Ben Terwel, Music curator

Homesick for the club night? For those who want to sweat, swoon and dance, Radio Melkweg and We Are Public present an evening full of Black queer hiphop, electronics and vogueing with five performers. Hands in the air for Cherella Gessel, OTION, Matyouz Ladurée, Dizzy Vineyard and Aitana Mccartney.

Razor-sharp lyrics, thick beats, dance and spoken word. Cherella’s solo performance YONIVERSE is a theatrical hip hop concert for Black queers. Tonight you will hear the songs from YONIVERSE live!

MC and singer-songwriter OTION mixes hiphop and neo-soul, inspired by his Afro-Surinamese roots and South-American shamanistic rituals. Think: hypnotic loops meets spoken word meets rap.

Godfather of the Parisian Ballroom Scene Matyouz Ladurée is a legend. Tonight we see him as a commentator with voguers Dizzy Vineyard and Aitana Mccartney.
