What type of organisation is We Are Public?
We Are Public was initiated by De Nieuwe Cultuur Stichting. We are a cultural ANBI, which means we are fully committed to our social mission rather than profit.

Who are the brains behind We Are Public?
We Are Public was founded by Bas Morsch and Leon Caren. Having set up the independent music platform Subbacultcha together, they now aspire to bridge the gap and connect the cultural sector through We Are Public.

Who is in charge of the We Are Public programme?
Our independent curators: we have experts spanning across diverse cultural realms in Amsterdam, Brabant, The Hague, Haarlem, Leiden and Delf. Find out more about them here. If I sign up now, when will I receive my We Are Public membership pass?
Once you sign up, you will immediately receive an email with a barcode that will give you access to all We Are Public events. Your membership pass will be delivered within six work days.

Where can I find the entire selection of events?
Find our full programme at wearepublic.nl/en/. Members also receive a bi-monthly update by email. Non-members can sign up to our newsletter via the website.

How does the membership card work? Can I reserve tickets?
For most We Are Public events you can simply collect a ticket at the venue’s box office on the day of the event. Remember to show them your We Are Public pass. A reservation or an online ticket purchase is possible for a small selections of events.

How to get your hands on a ticket varies per event and partner. Find the relevant ticket information when you click on the button ‘How do I get a ticket?’.

What happens when a performance is sold out?
We expect members to access We Are Public events without complications. There is, however, the chance that a performance will sell out and that We Are Public members will no longer be able to get in. Fortunately, there are at least 60 other monthly events your pass will allow you to attend and chances are there will be another fantastic concert, film screening or performance on the same night.

If we know in advance that a programme is sold out, we’ll announce it on our website. So make sure to check the website before heading out to get a ticket.

Can I gift a We Are Public membership?
Definitely. You can purchase a 3-month We Are Public Gift Card for a friend here. The gift membership will be delivered within six work days, festively wrapped and all. Unlike a normal membership, the gift membership cannot be used until the member card has been received and activated.

How do I convert my gift or trial membership into a regular We Are Public membership?
Click here to convert your gift or trial membership into a regular We Are Public membership. Your regular membership will start as soon as your gift or trial membership expires. The pass you already have received will stay active.

How do I activate my old membership card?
To reactivate your now inactive membership card, simply fill in your barcode here.

Is the membership card strictly for personal use?
Yes. Your We Are Public membership pass is personal and can only be used by the person whose name is on the card.

Can I bring someone along on my membership?
It is not possible to get a discount for two with your membership. Possibility to be seated next to a non-member depends on the partner.

It is, however, possible to bring a friend for free, by inviting him or her for a free one-month membership. You will find the invitation link ‘Bring someone along for free’ at each event.

I’ve lost my membership card
If your membership pass is lost, damaged or stolen, let us know as soon as possible by sending an email to info@wearepublic.nl.

How does direct debit (automatic withdrawal) work?
We Are Public membership costs €15 per month. In the month you register, your membership will cost 50 cents per day, with a maximum monthly charge of €15. This fee will be automatically withdrawn from your bank account during the first week of the following month. For example: if you register on the 2nd day of the month, you’ll pay €14.50. If you register on the 29th, you’ll pay €1.

Payment, for now, is only possible by direct debit (automatic withdrawal) from a Dutch bank account.
If your bank refuses the automatic withdrawal, we will try to withdraw two payments at once in the following month. If payment has failed twice, your membership will be put on hold. The membership can only be reactivated after the overdue payment has been transferred.

Cancelling your We Are Public membership
The minimum duration of membership is three full calendar months. After these three months, you can cancel at any time The cancellation deadline for the following month is on the 15th of each month. If you cancel after the 15th you will still be a member during the following month; meaning we will withdraw €15 from your account for that particular month. If you cancel your membership before the 15th, your membership will stay valid until the end of that month. Click here to change or cancel your membership
