What could possibly be better than exploring art and culture throughout the city in the summertime? Whether you like balmy concerts, cool theatres or a cold drink at an open air performance, we know how to up your game. Bring a friend for free! All August, your We Are Public membership card counts for two – get entrance to all our events for you, plus a friend, family member or someone you’d like to impress.

How does this Summer Special work, exactly?

It’s easy! Find an event in August that catches your eye and ask someone to tag along. Your We Are Public pass will count for two at all our events in August.

Dekmantel: Marcos Valle

Music indoors and out

Get to the forefront of new music during Dekmantel Festival in Amsterdam. We’ve got four events lined up for We Are Public members – Occult Oriented Crime in Bimhuis, Das Ding (live) in Tolhuistuin, Lorenzo Senni in Shelter and Marcos Valle in Muziekgebouw aan ‘t IJ.

For classical music, head to The Hague. On 26 August, the New European Ensemble will perform their innovative repertoire in the Nutshuis and in the evening the Residentie Orchestra will perform in the Zuiderparktheater.

Dance and film in the open air

Amsterdam’s very own Vondelpark dedicates itself to dance on 18 August. Interactive dance, a synchronised performance to dance music and three short dance films are all on offer this summer eve. In The Hague, members can visit the open air cinema on 3, 5, 10, 12, 17, 19, 24, 26 and 31 August.

Refreshing exhibitions

Escape the bustle and heat of the city in the cool and calm of a museum. Explore relationships and contrasts in the Tijdelijk Museum by Bijlmerbajes in Amsterdam between 9 August and 13 August. Visit the exhibition Humor, 101 years of laughing at art in Haarlem between 1 and 6 August. In The Hague, attend two photography greats on 12 and 13 August and Japanese photography and video art between 16 and 19 August.
