Emma Watson – The Play | Caro Derkx

In this melodic performance Emma Watson – The Play, Caro Derkx shares the outcome of a year and a half long obsession with role model Emma Watson. With a script consisting of one hundred percent Emma Watson’s words, Derkx enters into a dialogue with co-star Nora El Koussour. The result shares an exciting dynamic in which feminist activism, role models and representation come to the fore. Visit the play on 4 june in Frascati theater in Amsterdam.

#uncut | Nederlands Kamerkoor

In a semi-autobiographical performance about transition, composer Renske Vrolijk shares the story of Vivian. Together with the Nederlands Kamerkoor, among others, Vrolijk encourages the audience to join in an emotional flow about gender, life-changing choices and unanswered questions. Visit #uncut on 5 June in Stadsschouwburg Utrecht.

SPRING | The Waves | Khadija El Kharraz Alami

With The Waves, Khadija El Kharraz Alami puts on a performance in which women are the role models. The performance, based on the book of the same name by Virginia Woolf, tells about being a woman in a ‘man-made world’. Visit Stadsschouwburg Utrecht on 14 May for a powerful portrayal of female beauty, vulnerability and pain.

Becoming: Healing | Cherella Gessel, CC Amstel i.s.m. Rikkert van Huisstede

On 27 May, one thing is for sure: everyone is queer, glitter-clad and ready for some hip-hop! In this edition of ‘Becoming:’ Healing is on the programme with Cherella Gessel a.k.a. Yoniverse. Find yourself in the CC Amstel in Amsterdam in an empowering, rhythmic and energetic space and connect with your Yoni.


Movies that Matter on Tour | Bigger than Us | Flore Vasseur

In this edition of Public Matters, Melati Wijsen (20) meets a young generation of role models. She herself has been fighting for years on the island of Bali for a plastic-free society and a speedy recovery of our world.
